NDI VIrtual Input

NDI VIrtual Input

by Gabrielle Chuan - Number of replies: 5

Hi, my platform is Mac OS Ventura 13.7.

I have downloaded the latest version for the NDI Tools 6.1 but I am having problems with the Virtual Input.

Everytime I click on it, it says "The NDI virtual camera extension must be installed before use." I clicked INSTALL and it says "NDI Virtual Input must be restarted to use the camera extension". I did that but I still don't see in on the menu bar.

I have turned off my firewall and there are no anti-virus software running.

I was running NDI Tools on Catalina on a lower version (which I cannot remember which version) and it was working fine.

Can I know how do I solve this?

Hi Gabrielle, I'm on the NDI Support team and I'd love to assist. Can you provide the the NDI version of Tools that you're currently running and running into this issue? Also, is your Mac a M-series or an Intel based system? It's also possible that your user account doesn't have permissions to install each tool- please see this Apple forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254582832?sortBy=rank

I'll create a support ticket for you and follow up with you there if that doesn't work.

Hello, I am grateful for your reply. Here are the info:

Platform: iMac Ventura 13.7, intel
NDI version: 6.1 (the latest version)

Also, I tried it on my MacBook running on Monterey 12.7.6 (Intel Core i7). It crashes. It keeps saying "NDI virtual Input quit unexpectedly". Tried a few times and it is the same thing.

I read the link but it didn't help as I don't even see NDI Virtual Input in the list.

Ah, I think it may be due to the older MacOS you're running. I sent you an email in a ticket- please respond to that and I'll see if I can find an older version of the NDI Tools for MacOS that may work for you.
