Currently, the Preferred NIC drop down only shows the OS internal name, e.g., en0 or en7.  But for an end user those typically don't mean much.

If the app showed the human readable names such as "USB 10/100/1000 LAN" or "Belkin USB-C LAN", it would be easier for users to know the exact interface they are intending to use.
