Control NDI cameras with Extron touch panels?

Control NDI cameras with Extron touch panels?

by Nat Yonce - Number of replies: 1

Hi all, I've got a conundrum here.

The client has a zoom room mac mini and two canon PTZ cameras connected via NDI. The client wants to control the cameras with a networked Extron touch panel. The brains of the operation is the Extron IN1608 xi IPCP Q MA 70, which doesn't recognize NDI and thus can't control the cameras.

Is there a way for us to be able to control the cameras with the Extron touch panel via some sort of software installed on the PC, effectively bypassing (or at least going through somehow) the IN1608 xi IPCP Q MA 70?

Thank you so much for your help!

Likely the Canon cameras have a REST style HTTP API that would allow control from external systems. I don't have a Canon PTZ myself, but my Vizrt NDI PTZ cameras have this functionally. Probably need to check with Canon.
