problem with green "blobs"

HI all,

Im kind of new to NDI and have found myself with an issue i need a little help with,

when using screen capture (non HX) to send video from my gaming pc to my streaming pc i am getting

green artifacts (blobs) on the left hand side of the screen,.

i have tried every possible setting i can think of and i cannot get rid of them.
i am running the latest version of NDI (6.3.1)
on the sending side i am using Screen Capture (non hx). The settings are

frame rate "use monitor" (i have tried setting it to 60hz)
sound is set to silence

obs config for NDI

anyone happen to have any ideas what is causing this and ideally how to resolve it?

Are you also seeing this same artifact using NDI Studio Monitor to view the signal?

Hi Kane,

thanks for coming back to me. i have checked this and no i do not see the green blobs in studio monitor. i have gone on to run obs on another computer on my network and that machine also has the greenblob issue in obs and not in studio monitor.

i have checked the latest version of the obs plugin is installed and that seems to be as well.

what a connundrum!

i really hope we can find a solution.

NDI Studio Monitor is the main test to determine if the issue is in the signal or not. Being that you don't see it there, it's not an encode issue or something in the NDI bitstream. It has to be something with the decoding with OBS. Even when I saw the issue in the video link you shared, I doubted it was in the NDI signal, green blocks like that aren't how NDI handles dropped packets or network errors.

I'll have to try when I get a chance, with the latest OBS and DistroAV plug-in.

I just tried OBS 32.1.0 with DistroAV 6.1.1 and cannot get any green artifacts appearing in the display. The source system is using NDI Screen Capture (non-HX). I tried two different games to see if that had any effect, but both work correctly. Unless there is more you can share about the setup, I'm out of ideas.
