Make NDI Webcam Start In Background

Make NDI Webcam Start In Background

by Peter Garside - Number of replies: 1

I use NDI webcam to receive an NDI signal from a camera and use it on Google Meet. This works well, however I am wondering if there is a way to make NDI Webcam start without displaying anything as at present it shows a box with the camera stream at start that I have to close out of.

If it is any help, I am using Windows 11 and the latest version of NDI Tools.

I currently have NDI Webcam in the startup programs folder, however i tried using the run on startup option in the NDI Tools main page and that opens tha main NDI Tools page on boot instead. I need it to open without bringing anything up for the user.

I am not the only person using the machine and i don't want others messing up the settings (the rest of the PC is locked down so they can't access any settings etc...).

Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help me with this

I use Windows Task Schedular to start up applications when I log into a system. I use this with NDI Screen Capture on most of my systems so I can access them via NDI-KVM.

I don't know if a way to not have the webcam UI pop-up when the application starts, a single click will make it go away. I think what you are really asking for, is to make it so the settings cannot be changed on accident. You can set the NDI Webcam configuration file to read-only to make this happen. The file is called Application.Network.WebCam.v1.json and is located in %localappdata%\NDI
