I have got a setup with 2 computers. Both are connected to a Netgear 4250AV switch with NDI profile.
Anyhow both computers are also in Wifi at the same accesspoint.
It seems that the NDI stream seeks its way through the WiFi which results in lacky unusable NDI stream.
As soon as I disconnect one computer from the WiFi and restart Studiomonitor it works prefect.
I tried to use Accessmanager to prefer the Ethernet NIC, I also tried to use a Bridge on one of the computers. Anyhow it does not work reliable.
Is there any possibility for a setup like this, or do I need a different approach to get internet connection for both computers?
When using the default method of discovery (mDNS), they systems will find each other using all network paths, which can result in Ethernet and WiFi being used if both systems can be found.
The best away around this is to run Discovery Server on one of the systems and configure NDI Access Manager with the setting. Makes sure the IP address you enter into Access Manager is the Ethernet IP address (not the WiFi one). Then NDI application will no longer use mDNS for discovery and they should stick to the Ethernet network for communication.
