macbook scan converter

macbook scan converter

I am trying to support a person with a macbook wanting to send screen images to vMix.  We can successfully send Test Patterns to vMix so the path is fine, but we cannot send screen images using Scan Converter.  I myself am not a macbook user.  Any help would be appreciated

Hi Mark, in my experience, using something like the Zowiebox to capture the HDMI output between the MacBook and an external screen (or as a mirror of the builtin display) works much better because the Scan Converter does not give you a constant frame rate. Which means that if you play video on that screen, it will be choppy.

That being said, the Scan Converter probably needs permission to capture the screen in the System Settings:

I have 2x questions on running the scan converter for Mac.

-Is it possible to lock a certian resolution or output? Say 1080p60

-Can we spawn multiple instances or are we stuck to a single instance?

I don't think you can lock the scan converter, but you can set the display to run at 1080p by using the System Settings -> Display.

What do you want to use the multiple instances for? You can access the same Scan Converter from at least 2 different receivers.

I was using Scan converter for a single window to output multiple video files simultaneously from one machine (Mac). I guess in this case maybe using different NDI output software for Mac is a better solution.
